PhD Student, Human-Computer Interaction @ CMU HCII
<aside> 👋🏽 I’m a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University (HCII, School of Computer Science), advised by Sauvik Das at the Spud Lab. My work imagines creative ways to harness intelligent systems, emerging technologies, and novel interaction techniques to tackle compelling human‑computer‑interaction problems, from empowering users with stronger privacy and security to inventing expressive authoring tools. In my PhD, I am focussing on building intelligent agents for security and privacy. I focus on the domain of security and privacy, a space where user concerns are often secondary or abstract. I explore how intelligent systems can help people become more aware, intentional, and in control of their data (UIST’24 Demo). Prior to joining CMU, I graduated in Computer Science and Design from IIIT Delhi, India, where I was advised by Aman Parnami at Weave Lab. I studied and built solutions to counteract dark patterns in smartphone overuse and binge-watching (DIS’24 Provocation, DIS’22). I also interned at the iLab, University of Calgary, Canada, under Ryo Suzuki, where we explored concepts towards the vision of seamlessly blending the physical and virtual worlds (UIST’22, UIST’23, CHI’23).
